Forgotten Architecture

In Forgotten Architecture, Ceanna explores the abandoned set of buildings colloquially known as the Cedar Ave Powerhouse or the East Cleveland Powerhouse. The Cedar Ave Powerhouse has a rich history having been owned by over 5 different companies throughout the 92 years of its use. Originally, it was used as a powerhouse by the East Cleveland Railroad Company and had many uses throughout its years. All of this building’s history has influenced and changed its structure as it stands today. Ceanna’s images showcase this forgotten building using architectural photography techniques seen by current and past photographers, further integrating history as a whole into this triptych. Forgotten Architecture presents a worn-down eyesore in aesthetically pleasing images that bring attention to the rich history of Cleveland as a manufacturing city.
